DTEN D7 Zoom All-In-One Conferencing Device - Walkthrough and Hands-on Training

Yamada Language Center has recently purchased two DTEN D7 devices and has begun to pilot their use in language classes this academic year. Come visit YLC and learn about how this device can make a hybrid or HyFlex teaching environment a smoother experience for both the student and the teacher. There will be a brief presentation about how the device's capabilities, how it is being used here at YLC and in other institutions, and an opportunity for hands-on practice with the device.

For those interested in using this device for their future classes, this will be a great opportunity to inquire with YLC staff about reserving it for your use!

Where: Yamada Language Center, MCK 175

These summits involve speakers from both the UO and UW presenting on a specific topic, with speakers present in both Yamada Language Center, and also speakers at the LLC at Washington. Following the presentations the Zoom room will close and attendees at UO and UW will have a live discussion amongst themselves. 

In the Fall, our presentation topic was centered around Open Education Resources, and this Winter the topic is Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its use in University language courses. 

UW will present a study on "Ethical Integration of ChatGPT in Writing Instruction" and also the preliminary results from a survey on student and instructor perspectives on AI and language learning. 

UO has two alumni presenters this Winter: Zach Patrick-Riley presenting on "Using ChatGPT to Help Language Learners Achieve Professional Success" and Christopher Daradics presenting on "Interactivity and the Potential and Limitations of Using AI as an Interactive Partner".
