TalkAbroad and Conversifi Demos

In this session both TalkAbroad and Conversifi will be demoed for attendees. These are both platforms to help students develop their oral skills by connecting them with real native speakers of the target language. Kelley Howarth and Connie Dickey will demo these tools, and explain how they incorporated them in their Spanish and French courses.

This demo will be held at Yamada Language Center (MCK 175) on May 23rd from 3 PM to 4:30 PM

ChatGPT, Generative AI, and the Language Classroom (MCK 175 10:00 - 11:30 AM)

Learn what Generative AI is, practice using ChatGPT, and discuss ways these tools could be used in a language classroom.

This session will provide an overview and demonstration of various AI-driven tools available to the public. Participants will see some ways that ChatGPT can be prompted to produce desirable results, and practice using it to create outputs that could be used in a language classroom. A discussion will follow the hands-on portion of this session.

Please remember to bring a laptop, as we will be working with ChatGPT during this session! Attendees are also encouraged to create an account for ChatGPT before the session.
