FLIS Day 2027: Friday, May 7
Foreign Language & International Studies (FLIS) Day is UO's annual celebration and exploration of language and culture. It is a global experience localized to the UO campus. FLIS day encourages high school students to look into new languages and cultures as well as develop skills they already have. Its size and academic focus make it a unique opportunity for secondary students in the Pacific Northwest. Very few programs nationwide offer so many possibilities to explore a multitude of languages in such a hands-on way.
FLIS represents the best of UO's commitment to international education. Presenters come from many parts of the university and community, bringing their expertise in language, culture, area studies, and the arts.
There are more than 65 presentations, workshops, and classes to participate in. They'll discover mini-language lessons, workshops on food, song, and crafts, and the ever-popular music and dance events, including UO's own K.Aire, Wushu, Ahiru Daiko, Kultura Pilipinas and Hui 'O Hawai'i!
